Burgopak has been ranked as the sixth fastest growing private firm in the UK in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table.
The London-based company, which is the only packaging firm on the list, recorded sales of £5.26m in the year to 31 May 2008, up from £346,000 in 2004/5.
Burgopak was one of seven new entries in this year's top ten firms and the list was topped by chocolate retailer Hotel Chocolat, followed by foreign currency firm TorFX.
Founder Burgo Wharton came up with sliding packaging concept from a fascination with children's pop-up books.
It has already been adopted by the pharmaceutical sector, via a fruitful relationship with Brecon Pharmaceuticals, and production has been automated by Sigpack Systems, part of Bosch Packaging Technology.
Wharton described the firm's presence on the list as a "fantastic achievement and testament to the passion, dedication of our team".
The firm employs 25 staff, making it the joint smallest firm in the top ten, as well as the highest ranked London-based operation.
The 12th edition of the Virgin-sponsored list was published in last Sunday's edition of The Sunday Times, and can be viewed by clicking here.
